Our publication scheme describes and categorises information routinely available. It has been developed to give the community greater access to information held by Central Highlands Regional Council.
Section 21 of the Right to Information Act (2009) requires council to have in place a Publication Scheme. The purpose of this Scheme is to present a consolidated, user-friendly and comprehensive overview of council’s organisation, its relationship to the community and the various avenues for public access to council’s processes.
Information is grouped and accessible through seven classes:
Current written protocols for delivering our functions and responsibilities.
The Council holds a number of public registers. Some we are required to hold by law and others relate to the function of the Council or the laws that we administer.
You can request further information about our public registers by contacting council.
Not all the information the council publishes is detailed in the publication scheme. Information that is not published can be requested using the Right to Information Request form. Your request will be considered under the provisions of the Right to Information Act 2009.
All information in our publication scheme is available free of charge. Where possible, information is directly linked and available for you to download. If you are having difficulties in accessing any of these documents, please contact us to make arrangements to have the information provided in a suitable format.
If you wish to provide feedback to improve our Publication Scheme or make a complaint about the information available, please contact us.
Council values your comments and any feedback. Any complaints will be managed in accordance with council’s Administrative Action Complaints Policy.
