Food safety

Food poisoning or foodborne illness is the name for a range of illnesses caused by eating or drinking contaminated food or drink. Approximately 4.1 million people in Australia are affected by food poisoning each year.

Our environmental health officers regularly inspect and monitor local food businesses to ensure the food they provide is safe.
