Current Youth Events and Initiatives

Central Highlands Regional Council offer youth based events and initiatives across the region throughout the year. Information on current and upcoming events and initiatives (excluding School Holiday events) will be listed in the accordion items below.

Events and initiatives advertised on this page are aimed at youth aged 25 and under who live within the Central Highlands region.

  • Online Family Trivia Night

    Our Central Highlands Online Family Trivia nights will go live at 7pm on the dates listed below.

    The trivia nights are a fun way to end the week and there’s prize packs up for grabs for the best three teams of the night.

    Each competition comprises of 100 multiple choice questions with contestants given a five minute break at 50 questions. Don’t be late!

  • Ultimate Lego Photo Competition

    Competition runs here from 9am Friday 15 May to Sunday 31 May.

  • Online Scooter, Skate and BMX Trick Contest

    Competition runs here from 9am Friday 29 May to Sunday 14 June. 

    Think you can land the best tricks on your scooter? Or perhaps you’re confident you can nail the ultimate ollie on your skateboard or the best tail whip on the BMX? We want to see what you got!

    There are age categories and prizes too. Videos will be judged by some of our local skate legends – Aaron Lee and the RSPDI.

    • Winning entry prize packs may include: Vouchers, parts, decks and gear to the value of $250
    • Highly commended: $50 eftpos cards
    • Most voted scooter, skate and BMX video: $100 eftpos cards.

  • Central Highlands Plate It Competition

    Competition runs here from 9am Friday 12 June to Sunday 28 June. 

    Have you got what it takes to plate it like a pro? We are on the search for culinary excellence with the Central Highlands Plate It competition.

    This is the Central Highlands own online cooking competition. Follow our recipe for competition success.

    Enter the competition by sticking to the four step method below:

    1. Pick it – Choose a recipe you can cook. It could be an old family one, one from a book or one on the back of a packet.
    2. Cook it – Make a video of yourself cooking it. This could be done as a series of short five second bursts or filmed like it’s your very own cooking show.
    3. Plate it – Plate your meal, cake, snack or goodies like a pro. Don’t forget a drizzle of elegance and a side of sophistication!
    4. Send it – Follow the link and submit your video on our competition page… here.

    Our panel of virtual taste testers will judge the video for best creation and final product.

    • Winning entries: Prize packs valued at $200 including vouchers and goods.
    • Runners up: Prize packs valued at $100 including vouchers and goods.
    • Most voted: $50 eftpos card
