National Youth Week

National Youth Week is an important opportunity to celebrate the achievements, vitality and strength of young people aged 10 to 25 and to acknowledge their positive contribution to our communities.

The Central Highlands has celebrated National Youth Week through a number of community events and activities held across the region.

This year’s Youth Week runs from 15 to 24 June 2018 opening with the Parkwave Festival, there’ll be activities like roller-skating and skateboarding workshops, laser skirmish and movie nights.

  • Opening event - Parkwave Festival

    This year’s Youth Week opening highlight, Parkwave Festival, is more than just a music festival with mini eat street, market stalls and activities open to all ages.

    Headliners: Bordaline, JAG and The Rollers, Chenai Boucher

    Local performers: Mitchell Rolfe, Rebekah Hill, Max O’Grady, Bree Hales, Holly Green, Zak Pizzii and Paul Stephenson.

    When: 15 June 2018 from 5.00PM – 9.00PM

    3.00 pm – 5.00 pm – Skate workshop, Emerald Skate Park

    10.00 am – 1.00 pm – Disco skate day,  Blackwater PCYC

    Wednesday 20 June

    4.30 pm – 6.00 pm – Skate competition, Bluff Skate Park

    Friday 22 June

    6.00 pm – 8.30 pm – Outdoor movie night, Blackwater Rotary Park

    Saturday 23 June

    3.00 pm – Amazing race, Tieri Lions Park

    Sunday 24 June

    12.00 am – 3.00 pm – Laser skirmish, Rolleston State School
