Angel Flight Outback Trailblazer

Angel Flight Australia (est. 2003) is a charity that coordinates non-emergency flights for medical and financially needy people. Angel Flight assists patients, family and carers traveling to and from medical facilities anywhere in Australia. Angel Flight services are entirely free.

This year's major fundraiser in support of Angel Flight is the 'Angel Flight Outback Trailblazer'.

For seven days and nights, teams of ´Outback Angels´ will explore bush trails, witness stunning scenery, discover amazing wildlife and cruise wondrous waterways ... all while competing in this action-packed 4WD adventure challenge.

Central Highlands Regional Council are sponsoring a team to take up the challenge and join the Angel Flight Outback Trailblazer. Council has provided the nomination fee and donation to Angel Flight.

Team members have organised a fundraising event:

Event:- Wine and Cheese Evening and Gala Auction

Venue:- Art Gallery, Council building 65 Egerton Street Emerald.

Date:- Friday 25th September 2009

Time:- 5.00 pm - 8.00 pm

Cost:- $10 per head

You can support the "Outback Angels" by either

a. Donating and item to be auctioned
b. Making a cash donation
c. Attending the Event

Any funds raised over the and above the team nomination fee will be donated directly to Angel Flight. All sponsors will be acknowledged, either on the vehicle or on team apparel. Thank you in anticipation of your support.

The days have been themed and through out the seven days you will travel through outback areas such as Barcaldine, Ilfracombe, Isisford, Yaraka, Windorah, Lark Quarry dinosaur country, Longreach, Muttaburra and others will participating in some events and the Four Leaf Clover Challenge including;

" Fish for Yellowbelly in remote COOPER CREEK
" Muster sheep on CROSSMOOR STATION
" Discover Banjo´s masterpiece at the OUTER BARCOO INTERPRETIVE CENTRE
" Live STOCKMAN´S SHOW at the AUSTRALIAN STOCKMAN´S HALL OF FAME, Longreach
" Experience shearing history at the AUSTRALIAN WORKERS HERITAGE CENTRE, Barcaldine
" Aviation history at its best ... the QANTAS FOUNDERS OUTBACK MUSEUM
" HISTORIC BUSH PUBS ... where the Outback yarns began ... and grew
