The Game Plan

  • What is the Game Plan?

    The Game Plan is a 10-year plan for organised sport in the Central Highlands region.

    It outlines the goals and aspirations for our sporting clubs, facilities and programs.

    • Council and clubs make informed decisions.
    • Policies and procedures are in place to guide decisions.
    • Healthy clubs that are compliant and here for tomorrow.
    • Our facilities are strategically planned, creating one connected network.
    • Council empowers clubs to be proactive and prepared to grow active participation.

    In 2028 Sport in the Central Highlands enriches the lifestyles of our active community, Sport will be accessible, inclusive and provide opportunities for all.

  • The Game Plan Advisory Committee

    Council recognises and supports the role of sport in healthy active lifestyles and community connectedness.

    This committee has been formed with council and community members to support the development and implementation of the Game Plan project.

    Key milestones to date:

    GPAC MEETING #1

    • All current agreements for Sport and active recreation organisations will remain the same until The Game Plan has been adopted by Council and Community
    • Our community members were welcomed to the Committee
    • Our Vision and objectives for the future of Sport were endorsed by the group and Council
    • The group reviewed proposed Park Provisioning for CHRC’s Parks, People, Play document these were later endorsed by the Communities Standing Committee
    • The committee commenced the Framework Direction Workshops to begin the journey of developing the Tenure Framework

    GPAC MEETING #2

    • The communication strategy for the game plan was endorsed by the group and Council and informing the community is set to begin
    • The committee continued participating in workshops with executive support to construct and formulate a position to inform the development of a tenure framework
    • Executive support advised the group that 16 letters of tenure support were distributed to Sport and active recreation organisations for the State Governments “Get Playing Places and Spaces Grants”

    The Game Plan Advisory Committee has developed the following draft documents, which have been endorsed by council for community consultation.

     

  • Have your say!

    The first round of community engagement has now been completed and the feedback will be taken into consideration and amendments will be made to the draft documentation.

    The next round of engagement will be carried out once revised documentation has been endorsed by Council.
