Nominations must be received by 5.00 pm, Monday 6 January 2020. Late entries will not be accepted.
Nominations can be made online or in hardcopy at council customer service centres and libraries.
Nominees must be an Australian citizen and reside within the local government boundary of Central Highlands Regional Council.
Nominees in the Young Citizen of the Year Award must be aged 25 or under as at 26 January 2020.
Nominees in the Junior Sports Award must be aged 17 years or under as at 26 January 2020.
Previous recipients of any award are not eligible to win that same award for a period of three years.
An individual can be nominated in more than one category, but a separate form must be completed.
Individuals and organisations may submit nominations.
Nominations must address all selection criteria for their category and include a detailed and truthful evidence.
Please do not send originals of supporting documentation, as all documentation will be retained by the Central Highlands Regional Council.
A selection panel will be formed consisting of, at least, one council representative (councillor or staff) and a minimum of two community members. The panel’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding winners.
In the absence of any nominations for a category, the panel will make its own nominations based on local knowledge and experience.
The awards will be presented during Australia Day celebrations across the region on 26 January 2020.
