Emerald Airport
| The Central Highlands Regional Council owns and operates the Emerald Airport which is located 6km south of the Emerald town centre. The region is serviced by two commercial airlines, Qantaslink and Virgin. Regular Qantaslink services fly in and out of Emerald with over 30 services per week. EMERALD AIRPORT SECURITY
Airline passengers departing from the Emerald Airport will undergo security screening from 1 May 2012. The implementation of Security Screening at Emerald Airport will require all passengers to arrive at the Emerald Airport in sufficient time to undergo the new procedures and ensure their flights depart on time.

EMERALD AIRPORT FACILITIES
Public Car park
Located directly in front of the terminal building, the public car park provides quick easy access to the terminal, with disabled car parking available.
There is no charge for the first 1 hour use of the public car park. Payment can be made by cash or credit card (visa or mastercard) at one of the two automatic payment machines located on site.
Spaces cannot be booked for the public car park.
Pricing First Hour Free Each Additional Hour $2.00 24 Hour charge (Maximum) $10.00
Kiosk
The Emerald Airport has a kiosk facility that provides light refreshments for passengers and visitors.

General Aviation
A General Aviation parking apron is available with lighting and aircraft tie down facilities.
There are also a number of airstrips in the Central Highlands Region that Council also operates for light aircraft landings which are located in the following towns:
Capella - The Capella airstrip is located approx 2km west south west from the town centre and is classified as a ALA "Aeroplane Landing Area".
Dingo - The Dingo airstrip is located 1.0 km south south east from the township and is officially classified as a ALA "Aeroplane Landing Area".
Duaringa - The Duaringa airstrip is located 1km south of the township and is officially classified as a ALA "Aeroplane Landing Area".
Rolleston - The Rolleston aerodrome is located approx .5 km south west from the town centre and is officially classified as a ALA "Aeroplane Landing Area".
Springsure - The Springsure aerodrome is located approx 1km south from the town centre and is officially classified as a ALA "Aeroplane Landing Area".
The suitability of these airstrips is not guaranteed. Pilot use at own risk.
