Welcome to the Emerald Saleyards.


The Central Highlands Regional Council operates the Emerald Saleyards which is located in Batts Street, Emerald in the western industrial estate.

We offer a modern complex that has been designed to give the best presentation of your cattle with the following features:
  • 178 steel selling pens with concrete floor and water 
  • New state of the art double decker loading ramp
  • Covered buyers walk ways and draft
  • European Union Accreditation                                                     
  • Dip has nil withholding & nil ESI

History
Prior to 2007 Local Government amalgamations, the saleyards was operated by the EPDSYB (Emerald & Peak Downs Sale Yards Board) which was a joint local authority board that operated under the Local Government Act 1993.  The Board's first Inaugural Meeting was held on Friday 6 October 1967.

Saleyard Updates
Currently the Emerald Livestock Selling Association hold a combined fat and store sale every Thursday starting at 9.00am  Curfew for sale cattle is 7.00pm on the Wednesday night prior to the sale.  Sale cattle are NLIS scanned prior to the sale.

Preparations to carry out the 2011 / 2012 capital works have commenced.  The works will create an extra 34 selling pens.
