In most cases, the safest place for you and your family during a disaster is inside your home. As part of your preparations, you should identify the strongest room in the house for protection during disaster events such as cyclones and severe storms.

For some disaster events, the Local Disaster Management Group will provide safer places for the community to use. These safer areas may be required due to flooding, fire, cyclone, or any other event that requires people to have to leave their homes.

Please note Central Highlands Regional Council Safe Places will only display on this site when they are activated and open.
