On 21 Nov 2011, Council resolved to move to adopt model local laws and propose to make subordinate local laws relating administration, animal management, community and environment management and local government controlled areas, facilities and roads.

 
In addition, Council further resolved to continue local laws relating to gates and grids, levee banks and public aerodromes.
 
The Council has delegated to the CEO the power to conduct public interest tests relating to the models, subordinate and continuing local laws and any possible anti-competitive provisions that might be included therein.
 
Consistent with National Competition Policy and legislation, Council is required to consult with the public and formally consider any submissions received on these new and proposed local laws prior to formal adoption.
 
A public notice will be published in the CQ News on Wednesday 30 Nov 2011 advising the community of this project.
 
The consultation period will commence on Wed 30 Nov 2011 and conclude on Friday 23 Dec 2011.
 

During the consultation period Council will make available for inspection at Council’s public office at 65 Egerton Street, Emerald, 4720

Submissions must be received on or before Friday 23 December 2011 stating:-

(a) the grounds of the submission; and

(b) the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds.
