Shepton Quarry has been operating since being established by the former Peak Downs Shire Council in 1991.  The first major order was for the development of the Gordonstone Mine which is now known as Kestrel Mine.

The quarry is located 25km east of Capella and 40km north of Emerald along the Montrose Road.

Products
Shepton Quarry is a basalt quarry that produces a high quality range of  products including roadbases and subbase for road, civil and site works.  Shepton Quarry is also Main Roads approved to produce aggregate for the production of hot mix.  Some of the other products produced include:
